The Loch Ness Monster welcomes you!

In the Nessieland Castle Monster Centre we have a presentation about the Loch Ness Monster, which has all the information on the Monster and is constantly updated on the Loch Ness Monster legend. It also has a newly constructed children's activities area, including "Nessieland Castle", and an adventure playground.

Our informative and up-to-date Loch Ness presentation contains evidence of Loch Ness Monster sightings and shows proof of the Loch Ness Monster caught on tape. Hear eye-witnesses explain first hand what they have seen and follow their Loch Ness Monster footage on film. We are sure that at the end of your visit you will believe in the legend of the Loch Ness Monster.

Attractive display panels in our Loch Ness Monster presentation and museum show Loch Ness Monster pictures, as well as giving a wealth of information about Loch Ness including many other events associated with the loch and Loch Ness Monster history. Learn about John Cobb's 1952 world water speed record attempt and about the salvage of a World War II Wellington bomber which had spent 40 years below the water. Follow the construction of the Caledonian Canal in our Loch Ness museum and presentation, a stunning feat of Georgian engineering, and the ill-fated railway extension link which, due to disputes, was never completed.

The story of the Loch Ness Monster has fascinated people since at least 565AD when St Columba made reference to a sighting, and today experts and tourists are still asking, "Is the Loch Ness Monster real?" Sceptics may believe that the Loch Ness Monster is a fake, or even dead, but in fact sightings continue to this day. Over the centuries there have been many people convinced and willing to stake their professional reputations on their beliefs in the monster and many scientific studies have taken place.

The 1930's were the heyday of scientific research into Loch Ness Monster facts and newspapers of the time frequently ran headlines stating "Loch Ness Monster Found". Such was the interest at the time in the Monster of Loch Ness that there were indeed several hoaxes including a number of convincing photos and film footage of of "Nessie". (See our Loch Ness Monster videos page).

You will also find on this website an informative Loch Ness Area Guide providing information about local walks such as the Great Glen Way, Urquhart Castle, Drumnadrochit, Fort Augustus, and many other local attractions including cruises on Loch Ness.

A huge range of souvenirs and a selection of high-quality Scottish gifts are to be found in our inspiring gift shop.
